How do I sign up for Socket Fiber?
Check availability and sign up at shop.socket.net or give us a call at 1-800-SOCKET-3.
How is Socket Fiber installed?
Installation happens in two simple steps:
- Drop install: We run fiber from the street to your home and install an ONT (connection box) on the outside of your house. You don't need to be home for this.
- Indoor install: Our technician comes inside to install a wall jack and set up your router. You'll need to be home for this part.
How long does installation take?
The indoor installation typically takes 1-2 hours, including setup, WiFi optimization, and any needed equipment updates.
Do I need to be home during installation?
You only need to be home for the indoor portion when our technician installs your wall jack and router.
What equipment will I receive?
You'll receive one router included with your service.
Do I need a router for Socket Fiber?
Yes, and every Socket Fiber plan includes a router at no extra cost.
Do you install equipment inside and outside my home?
Yes, we install the ONT outside your home and the wall jack and router inside.
What if I need additional WiFi coverage in my home?
You can add extra routers for $10 per month to extend coverage throughout your home.
Can I install the equipment myself?
No, we handle all installations to ensure everything is set up correctly and working perfectly.
