Socket to host Centralia open house event

Socket will host an open house event Thursday, October 11, from 4:00-6:30 p.m. at Jaycee Park to educate residents on the expansion of its gigabit fiber network throughout Centralia.

The Columbia-based telecommunications provider expanded its fiber network to area businesses earlier this year and will soon offer services to all homes within the city limits. Construction is underway and will continue for the next few months.

Thursday’s event will feature food and activities for all ages, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the project and ask questions about the construction and installation process.
