Socket Brings Fiber to Midwest Campus Clash

April 4th, 2019

(COLUMBIA, MO) – Socket is bringing the speed of fiber to the Midwest Campus Clash and Gaming Expo at Columbia College. The premier e-sports tournament, held on April 6, will run on Socket’s fiber connection and allow for uninterrupted gaming.

“Socket is proud to partner with Columbia College for the Midwest Campus Clash and Gaming Expo,” said Carson Coffman, president and COO of Socket. “As a local company, we pride ourselves on providing superior, flexible service, and we’re excited to offer fiber for what is becoming the largest Midwest gaming experience.”

Specifically, Socket is a sponsor of the high school “All Star” tournament at the expo, which will feature ten students from area high schools in Columbia and Jefferson City. The high school showcase is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., and will lead in to the Midwest Campus Clash Championship Match.

“We’re fortunate to have Socket serve not only as the event’s Official Broadband Provider, but also as a bronze level sponsor,” said Brad Wucher, associate vice president for marketing at Columbia College. “Our strategic relationship with Socket provides us with the fiber-optic broadband we need to ensure uninterrupted gaming by our League of Legend and Fortnite Tournament participants.”.
