Socket Announces Promotion and New Team Members

(COLUMBIA, MO) – Socket is pleased to announce a promotion and the addition of new members to its team.

Dave Sill was promoted to director of information technology after 20 years with the company. Sill will serve as director of a new dedicated information technology department, which will be responsible for internal software development, database management and server maintenance and on-call duties related to server hardware and software. The goal of the new department structure is to improve efficiency and customer service.

Christina Dablemont joins the Socket team as a human resources specialist. In this role, she will support employee growth and engagement initiatives. Dablemont has more than seven years of combined training and HR experience. Her leadership development, professional training, recruitment and personnel management skills will serve to further enhance the Socket staff. Dablemont previously worked for Veterans United Home Loans and The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri.

Ed Kalk joins Socket’s information technology group as a server specialist. Kalk comes to Socket from Dell EMC, where his background was in server and network engineering with a focus on SAN/NAS storage and virtualization technologies. He holds VMware VCP 6.5 and Dell EMC Technology Architect certifications. In his new role, Kalk will be architecting compute as a service (CaaS) and storage as a service (SaaS) solutions, improving the resiliency, flexibility and efficiency of Socket’s systems.

Christi Wolverton joins Socket at as a fiber development specialist. In this new role, she will head up Socket’s efforts to identify new areas where residents are interested in Socket building out their high speed fiber optic network. She will be tasked with working with developers, builders, home owner associations, local politicians, chambers and economic developers, to locate areas across Missouri where the existing Internet services are not adequate for business or residential use.
