Socket announces expansion of residential fiber optic internet network in Clinton

(CLINTON, MO) – Socket, a longtime internet provider in Clinton, is expanding its fiber optic internet service to residential homes across the city. Socket announced the expansion today at a ribbon-cutting and media event at State Fair Community College’s Clinton campus.

For the last five years, Socket also has built and operated a fiber optic network to service businesses throughout Clinton. With Socket’s business success and the demand for symmetrical fiber based high speed internet for the home, Socket will begin constructing its fiber optic network to cover the entire city.

“At Socket, we are unusual – we bring unusually good internet and unusually good service to our customers. Socket is proud to be a Missouri-based telecommunications provider and we plan on bringing state-of-the-art technology and friendly, local support to as many homes and businesses as possible,” said Socket President and COO Carson Coffman. “Socket is committed to our investment in constructing critical internet infrastructure in Clinton. Our fiber network will allow customers to enjoy reliable and fast internet so they can successfully work, go to school, and even visit with doctors via telemedicine appointments.”

Construction on the fiber lines began in 2018 for Clinton businesses, which will gradually expand until the entire city has access to high-speed fiber internet.

Founded in 1994, Socket is a Missouri-based telephone and internet service provider. Socket’s customers enjoy simple billing and quick, friendly service.
