Slower Speeds, Higher Prices a Reality for Many Internet Users

While bandwidth needs continue to climb and more consumers are demanding faster connections, studies show that competition is actually worsening across the country.

According to a recent Motherboard article, big telecom companies like AT&T, CenturyLink and Verizon are slowing progress on infrastructure improvements and raising prices for consumers. In other words, consumers are paying more for less.

Reduced competition also means that consumers have fewer options for providers, making it more difficult to find a provider whose positions on net neutrality and online privacy match theirs.

We're not surprised. We hear from customers every day who are frustrated and feeling stuck. That's why we're working hard to change the game by providing faster connections at affordable prices, expanding our fiber network to as many homes and businesses as we can.
