Spend Local on Saturday, November 26

This Saturday, November 26 is Spend Local Day.

On this day, shoppers across the country are encouraged to visit local businesses and see what they have to offer.

Businesses in your community pay local taxes, provide jobs for local workers and support local causes. In fact, for every $100 spent in locally owned, independent stores, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll and other expenditures (according to small-business advocacy group The 3/50 Project).

So this weekend, take time to visit a local retail shop or have dinner at your favorite local restaurant.

You'll likely find some great deals right in your own neighborhood.
