Yes, if you have not yet received a call from a Socket customer service agent, please talk to our agents by March 20 to verify your account information and to set up your Socket Internet connection. Do I need to change my dial-up number? Depending on the local dial-up number you currently use for the Internet, it may need to be updated. If you have talked to one of our customer service or tech support agents, you will NOT experience any downtime during the transition of your new Internet service. Do I need to change my e-mail address? Not immediately, but it is best to change your @zigs.net e-mail address to an @socket.net e-mail address. We will be able to forward your @zigs.net e-mail to your new Socket e-mail address so you have no loss of e-mail. Our friendly tech support agents will help to make this transition as smooth as possible. Please call to change your e-mail address immediately at 1-800-762-5383. How do I check my new Socket e-mail account? If you do not already, please begin using Outlook Express to manage your @socket.net e-mail. Our tech support agents are standing by to help you set up your Outlook program if you need assistance. Socket's Web Mail Center is also available to check and send your e-mail when you are away from your normal computer. When is my Internet payment due to Socket? Please call 1-800-762-5383 or send in payment via credit/debit card or check by the 20th of the month your bill is received. Blocked Executable Files To help filter unsolicited junk mail from reaching your e-mail address, Socket blocks the following executable files which are commonly used for harmful virus transfer: .exe, .cpl, .pif, .vbs, hta, cmd, .bat, and .scr. Please contact Socket if you have any questions at 1-800-762-5383. Payment Options Socket provides several payment options for your convenience. You can receive your bill by mail or e-mail. You can view and pay your account ONLINE at MY ACCOUNT or simply set up an automatic payment. Automatic withdrawals through credit card or direct debit makes paying your Socket bill easy. Please contact a Socket customer service representative at 1-800-762-5383 to set up an automatic payment for your new Socket account.
