Socket Sends 10 Veterans on Honor Flight
Saluting Missouri veterans with a trip to Washington, D.C.

Socket recently helped ten Missouri veterans visit the memorials in their honor in Washington, D.C. with the Central Missouri Honor Flight.

The flight, which took place Tuesday, April 5, included more than 100 veterans and volunteers. Even a delay didn't stop a few sleepy Socketeers from joining a large crowd to welcome home the veterans around 1:00 a.m.

"Socket is a great example of entrepreneurs realizing the American dream, and that sort of achievement has been made possible through the freedoms our veterans secured for us nearly 70 years ago," said Mary Paulsell, president of the Central Missouri Honor Flight Executive Board. "This gift helped give veterans a memorable day they richly deserve in appreciation for their service and sacrifice for our nation."

To view more pictures from the recent flight, visit the Central Missouri Honor Flight website or Socket's Facebook Page.

Dear Techie: What are some good cleaning tips for my computer?

Like anything around the house or office, a computer can get dirty. To keep your workspace neat and ensure your equipment continues to run smoothly, experts recommend cleaning your computer at least every five months and more often if you smoke or have pets. Get started by following these easy cleaning tips:

  1. Turn off the computer, printer and other electronic equipment. This will ensure your safety, as well as protect your equipment.
  2. Wipe down the exterior. Use a dry cloth to remove dirt and dust from your computer tower, monitor and printer.
  3. Make your screen shine. Check your owner's manual for instructions. For most monitors or laptop screens, special products will safely clean without damage. Spray some on a soft cloth (not a paper towel) and wipe the screen, being careful not to press too hard.
  4. Clean the keyboard. Spray your keyboard with a can of compressed air to remove dirt, dust and hair.
  5. Organize cables and cords. Wipe off cords and untangle them. Use twist ties to keep your workspace neat and well organized.

Follow these tips to keep your computer looking and running like new.

Happy Spring!
